We are very pleased to announce the addition of two new professionals to our firm.
MeLissa Trujillo joins us in a new role of Senior Portfolio Administrator. As an administrative member of the Investment Team, MeLissa supports our trading process, working closely with our full-time trader, Corey Saathoff. She also supports our client service activities. MeLissa has over 25 years in the financial services industry, of which the last 17 years included investment analysis and working directly with clients. She received her B.B.A. in Finance and Management from Washburn University. Outside of work, MeLissa is a runner and a mother of a young son and daughter
Caroly Burden recently joined the firm as the Office Manager. Caroly has over 10 years of experience working in the finance industry where she gained a keen appreciation for client service. In addition to Caroly’s accounting and HR duties, she is the primary contact on incoming phone calls and will be at the door to greet you when you visit our office. She has a delightful personality, so you will enjoy making her acquaintance when you call in. Caroly is a mother to two young boys.
We have been fortunate over our history, especially these past few years, to have very limited turnover of our associates. Like many firms, triggered by the COVID pandemic, our office routines have evolved to allow associates more workplace flexibility. While you will find most of us in the office most of the time now, the nature of our work and the increased efficiencies afforded by technology enable us to be highly productive anywhere.
In this spirit, after a short trial, Lead Growth Equity Manager, Len Mitchell, has taken up fulltime residency in Sonoma, CA. where he and Karen can be closer to family. As Len would say, he continues to spend his days doing what he would choose to do anywhere – equity research and portfolio management – just now in a better climate. Len will schedule regular visits to KC to meet with team members and clients.
While we embrace these changes, we have always valued the importance of supporting a close-knit, professional culture in a boutique structure like ours. We will be mindful to safeguard this defining trait.
We welcome both MeLissa and Caroly to the Meritage family. We hope you and your families are having a good spring.
